Our Story

Based in Kelso, in the Scottish Borders Doreen Shepherd Designs have been trading for 37 years. We originally started out with ball gowns and wedding dresses however we have now added our range of bespoke ladies tweed and kiddies wear. Over the past 6 years this has proven to be very popular with more ranges being added all the time.

Having built up a wide range of clientele, dressing ladies for a range of events including evening wear, mother of the bride outfits or a smart tweed we have come to know what our beautiful ladies require and enjoy seeing the sparkle and shine no matter what event they are attending.

Doreen Shepherd - Proprietor

With over 45 years of experience (we're not sure how when she looks 21!) She opened the shop 1987, since then she has enjoyed designing loads of fab outfits. Doreen does all our bespoke outfits and she loves working with tweed so she is the person to go to if you want to look stylish for any event.

Diane Haines - Front of House

Diane has been with us for over 15 years and would usually be the first smiley face you'll meet when you come in to the shop. She has a vast knowledge of our ball and evening gown range and is amazing at picking out the right gown for you.

Anna Pannone - Sewing

Anna has been with us for over 7 years and we have her chained to the sewing machine most days! Always happy to help she carries out all aspects of sewing from alteration to assisting Doreen with the bespoke garments, she is a joy to have around.
